How Do I Become A Scholar?

1

Complete the Online Interest Form (5 minutes)

Start by filling out a short form to let us know you're interested. This helps us understand your goals and determine how we can best support you.

2

Phone Call with a Team Member (15 minutes)

A team member will reach out to learn more about your situation, answer questions, and explain the program details. This is a great opportunity to see if Scholar House is the right fit for you.

3

In-Person or Virtual Intake Meeting (1 hour)

Once you’ve been assigned a family advocate, you’ll meet to discuss your educational plans, family needs, and how we can best support your success. We’ll also review eligibility requirements and the next steps.

4

Attend Orientation (90 minutes)

After you have enrolled in Scholar House Programming, the next step is an orientation. In orientation, you will get an overview of program expectations, resources, and the support available to you. This is a great opportunity to meet the Scholar House staff and connect with other new Scholars.

5

Weekly Family & Academic Support

(Varies, Customized to Your Schedule)

Once enrolled, you’ll meet with your family advocate and academic coach for personalized support. These sessions help you stay on track, navigate challenges, and build long-term stability while balancing school and parenting.

6

Student Housing Program

If you are a full-time student and need housing, our residential program offers safe, affordable apartments designed for student parents. Living on-site provides a built-in support system while you focus on your education.

7

Graduation & Continued Support

Earning your degree or certification is just the beginning! Scholars graduate with the tools and knowledge to build long-term stability. Many continue to receive support and guidance as they transition into their careers.

A Program Without Walls
Scholar House meets you where you are

We offer flexible support tailored to your needs, whether that means meeting in person (at home or in the office) or connecting virtually.

If you’re a parent pursuing post-secondary education, you’re eligible to engage with Scholar House programming, no matter where you are on your educational journey.

Parents come to us at different stages: some are completing high school and planning for college, while others are already enrolled in degree or certificate programs. Our services are designed to adapt to each Scholar’s goals, circumstances, and motivations.

Every Scholar begins by partnering with a Family Advocate to build stability and set personal goals. As they progress, they receive one-on-one academic support from an Academic Coach. Scholar Families also attend monthly workshops that include meals and enriching educational activities for both parents and children.

Single parents pursuing full-time education may qualify for our residential program, which offers safe, affordable housing through degree completion. Residential Scholars commit to regular meetings with their Family Advocate and Academic Coach, and participate in monthly workshops as part of their holistic support.
